Hiras is the stage name of dj /producer Kostas Hiras born in Greece. his passion for music started at the tender age of 7 years old when his parents gave him his first musical instrument a Yamaha mini keyboard. DJing since the age of 15,Even though he was young,In the 80’s he started to listen to and collect scarce vinyl of the acid garage pcychedelic scene of 60’s. The“Eight miles high“of byrds,and“I had to much to dream“of electric prunes, establisted his choice in music. In the early 90’s with the start of electronic dance scene he started to play in the new born clubs. He was by the first in Greece who supported and promoted dance music, combined with the sound of New Order, Happy Monday’s, Stone Roses. In 1993 he started his first electronic band until 1995. In the years that followed he spent long hours in his home studio so as to create his own distinctive style and sound. Today he has his own record shop and many releases and remixes on indie and major labels like Universal music,Sony Bmg,Toolroom(UK),Boz Boz(UK),UMM(UK),MadameVisage(FR)Young Society Records His New Order influences come together with his own production style to create a unique sound that fits in to today’s electronic world perfectly. Now a days his sets are full of groovy bass, synths and drums, keeping always the feeling of house indie, Nu:Disco, Synth Pop, New Wave, Electro.
